Reviews and Ratings for Financial adviser Alex Thomas, St-Albans

CHARTERED FINANCIAL PLANNER

ALEX THOMAS APFS

As a chartered independent financial planner, I love working with new and existing clients to ensure their financial goals and objectives become a reality.

When working with a new client, I will seek to understand their existing financial circumstances, which will often entail a thorough audit and review of their existing plans.

Together we then explore objectives, and plans for the future.  This helps to develop an accurate financial plan, which may include areas such as retirement planning, investment opportunities, inheritance tax planning, care fees planning and protection of the clients legacy.

All of this alongside ensuring tax allowances are maximised for the family or business. This can then form the start of an ongoing relationship whereby we explore and review the financial plan on an ongoing basis.

About Me

I became a qualified financial adviser in 1998 working for an insurance company and then within high street banks.  During this time I also studied advanced qualifications in financial planning.

I moved into leadership roles in 2008 again in financial services, where I led and worked with large teams in supporting customers within the regulated financial services and banking sectors.

My final role in the bank saw me work within group digital, again with a focus on the customer to enhance their digital journey.

I left to set up on my own and worked with a restricted company before realising I wanted to offer my clients and prospective clients a wider choice, and real financial planning.  That’s when I joined DGS and I am proud to have become a chartered financial adviser in 2024.

Personal

I am married to Hayley and we have 3 great kids, and a cockapoo called Luna!

We have lived in Wheathampstead for 13 years, and I am actively involved in the local community.  This includes membership of the local business network, lead coach for my son’s football team, and involvement in my sons cricket coaching too.

I love (nearly) all sports, so I like planning and attending sporting events including football, cricket, golf and rugby.

Family time is important so we often get away for weekends as a family when we can, or go into London to watch a show (when we can get a dogsitter!)
