CHARTERED FINANCIAL PLANNER

JAMES LACEY APFS

As an independent financial adviser I love to help people work towards their financial goals and aspirations, providing answers to the “can I?” or “what if?” questions we often face.

Whether your needs are just your own or wider family related, personal or business based, I can help. Work with clients will always start with a chat (tea & biscuits optional but advised!) and then be built around your requirements and wishes, with a view to providing advice that fits and flows with your circumstances over the long-term.

About Me

After graduating from the University of Plymouth, I started my career in the automotive sector, at the UK headquarters of a global car manufacturer. After spending some time away from work with my young son, I decided to turn a long-held passion for consumer finance into a new career path, self-studying for my Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning and joining DGS Chartered Financial Planners in 2020.

In my 5+ years working at DGS, I’ve gone on to achieve the Level 6 Advanced Diploma and was proud to become Chartered in December 2025.

Personal

Away from work, I enjoy spending time with family as we head out for visits to the zoo (always something different to see!), watching my son speed round the BMX pump track or enjoy an altogether more relaxing picnic in the park. I also volunteer my time as the Treasurer for two registered charities: the school Parent Teacher Association and a local Scout Group.
